These subtle variations are a natural part of developing formulations with real, plant-based ingredients, and not an indication that something is wrong.

Growing conditions, harvest timing, and plant characteristics can all influence the final result. Why Does My Bottle Taste Different?

If your last bottle tasted different from this one, that's not a red flag — it's a feature of working with real plants. Essiac is made from herbs, and herbs vary. Rainfall, soil, harvest timing, even which part of a growing season a batch was sourced in can shift the exact balance of bitterness, earthiness, or sharpness you taste. This is true of coffee, wine, and tea as well. Batch consistency in flavor usually means something was standardized in a lab, not grown in a field. What stays consistent is the sourcing and the process: same herbs, same ratios, same preparation method, every time. Taste is the one variable nature gets a vote on. Why Does Colour Change Between Batches?

Colour is one of the most visible ways that natural variation shows up, and it can look alarming if you're expecting something identical to last time. A slightly darker or lighter brew from batch to batch reflects that, not a change in formulation or a quality problem. What would be worth flagging is an unusual colour paired with an off smell, visible mold, or unexpected texture. That combination, not colour on its own, is the actual signal to watch for.

Why Is There Sediment?

Sediment at the bottom of your bottle or brewed tea is expected, not a defect. Essiac is made from real plant material. The small particulates are fine herb fragments that don't fully dissolve.  These particulates will naturally settle over time, especially after refrigeration slows everything down. This is common with any unfiltered herbal preparation, much like sediment in a natural wine or the settling you see in fresh-pressed juice. A gentle swirl or shake before pouring redistributes it; there is no need to strain it out or worry that something's wrong. If anything, heavy sediment is a small sign that you're getting the actual plant material and not a filtered-down, processed version.
